How to navigate Toddle on the app as a family member?

Welcome to Toddle! We’re thrilled to have you on board. In this article, we will guide you through the many useful features available on the Toddle Family App, that will help you stay connected with your child’s learning journey at school. Let’s get started!

Navigating Toddle app

As you open the Toddle Family App, you will find multiple login options, as shown below. You will be required to sign in with your registered email ID. If you are a first-time user, refer to this article to create a new account for yourself.

Once you have successfully logged in, you will land on the Home page just like the one shown below. Let’s explore it together!

💡The cards you see on your homepage may vary depending on the configurations done by the school admin.

Profile settings

At the top left, you'll find an icon with your initials. Click on it to get to the ‘My Profile’ page. You will come across a range of options here. Let’s walk through each one.

Personal Profile

By clicking on the edit icon highlighted below, you will be able to edit your personal and contact details on the Toddle Family app.

Language

Use the ‘Language’ switcher to change the platform language. You can choose from one of the six languages supported.

Student sign-in code

You will also find your child's ‘Student sign-in code’ here, which can be used for logging into the student portal.

Manage children

You can use the ‘Manage children’ option to add or remove children linked to your profile on the Toddle family app. Simply click on the delete icon to delete a child, or add a new child by clicking on the ‘Add child’ button on the top right corner, which will then prompt you to scan a QR code or enter the ‘Family code’ to add a new child to your profile.

Curriculum and year

The ‘Curriculum and year’ option lets you select the curriculum and academic year you wish to view when accessing the student’s data in the app.

Notification settings

This option redirects you to the ‘Notifications settings’ page where you can set your notification preferences by selecting where and when you want to be notified. Read this article to learn all about notification settings.

Accessing notifications

Let’s start with the top right corner. See the bell icon? Click on it to access your notifications. These will help you keep in touch with your child’s learning activities.

You will be able to view all the notifications you have received as a family member. If you have more than one child on Toddle, notifications for all of them are consolidated under this tab.

The gear icon highlighted in the below screen takes you to the ‘Notifications settings’ page where you can set your notification preferences.

Dashboard

Now let's explore the main dashboard section filled with helpful cards:

Child switcher

Right on top of the landing page, you will see your child’s name and the programme they are enrolled in. Click on it to seamlessly switch between the multiple child profiles that are linked to your account on the Toddle Family App.

Assignments and deadlines

The ‘Assignments and deadlines’ card shows all the tasks and assignments your child needs to or has worked on. Upcoming tasks, past due items, and already submitted tasks will all be listed here. Tap the filter icon on the top right to choose which type of tasks and classes you want to view the tasks for.

Announcements

The ‘Announcements’ card is where you will find all the latest news and updates shared by the school about events, holidays, etc. You can click on each announcement to get more details on the same. You can also search for specific announcements or filter them as per your requirements. For more details, please refer to this article.

Messaging

As a family member, you can converse with your child’s teachers by clicking on the ‘Messaging’ card on your homepage. You can use this feature to actively participate in conversations initiated by teachers, as well as initiate chats with teachers from your end.

On the landing page, you will find a list of all the teachers you have conversed with earlier. You can click on anyone to continue your chat or use the ‘+’ icon at the top to initiate a new conversation. You can send text, voice messages, attachments, and more. 💡You will be able to initiate a conversation with teachers only if the relevant setting is enabled by the school admin.

Progress reports

Access your child's latest academic reports and evaluations shared by the school using the ‘Progress reports’ card. You can view and download PDF copies. To learn more about accessing your child’s progress reports, refer to this article.

School policies and resources

Important policy documents and official resources from the school will be housed in this section for your reference. You can view or download them for offline use.

Calendar

Never miss an event! The ‘Calendar’ card will give you access to the full year's calendar including holidays, parent-teacher conferences, school-wide events, class assignments and other important dates. Switch between daily or weekly views and gain information on all the happenings in your child’s school.

Timetable

Get the daily class schedule for your child at a glance through the ‘Timetable’ card.

Attendance

Here you can keep track of your child's overall attendance. Depending on the configurations done by the school admin, you will be able to view your child’s overall presence, day’s attendance and further breakdown of attendance for each class. Refer to this article to learn more about tracking your child’s attendance on Toddle.

The red button on the top-right allows you to easily request leave for your child for upcoming or past dates. This article will help you learn how to request for excusals through the Toddle family app.

Gradebook

You can conveniently access the Gradebook module on the family app, providing you easy access to all relevant information about your child’s academic performance across all subjects and grading periods.

At the bottom of the screen, you will find separate tabs. The Final Grades tab shows overall scores for each subject. The Assessments tab breaks down performance by subject, with detailed teacher evaluations. If your child is an MYP student, you can view their progress on the four MYP Criteria in the MYP Criteria tab. The More tab provides additional insights like students’ performance on learning goals such as Approaches to learning, Subject standards etc.

Classes

Click on any of your child’s classes to get detailed insights. Let’s explore the individual sections you will see inside a class.

Portfolio: The ‘Portfolio’ tab within a class offers a glimpse into your child’s classroom experiences. Navigate through these posts and interact by liking or commenting on them. This article will help you gain more information about this feature.

💡 The sections available within a class may vary as per your school's configuration.

Assignments: The ‘Assignments’ section has details of the various tasks assigned to and completed by your child. You can also search for particular tasks or filter them according to their submission status. To learn more, refer to this article.

Class flow: Inside the ‘Class flow’ section, you can view all the class content shared with your child. Use the search bar at the top to find specific items or use the ‘Status’ filter to view items based on submission or completion status. You can click on tasks to view task details or your child’s work (if already added).

In the ‘More’ section, you can access various modules, including:

Weekly Planners: This tool provides an overview of your child’s upcoming schedule and the learning experiences they’ll be participating in for the weeks ahead.

Unit plans: This section lets you view the various units your child’s teacher has planned. It’s helpful if you’re curious about what your child will be learning in upcoming lessons.

Files: This section provides access to all important files and learning resources shared with you. You can switch between list view and card view, and use the search bar to quickly find relevant class files.

Class switcher

If your child is enrolled in more than one class, you can easily navigate between the different classes that they’re enrolled in by using the ‘Class switcher’ at the top as shown below.
