How to navigate Toddle on the web as a student?

Welcome to Toddle! We’re thrilled to have you on board. As a student, staying updated with your school events, daily tasks, and deadlines is crucial. In this article, we will guide you through the many useful features available on the Toddle web platform, that will make it super easy to track your school journey and reach your academic goals. Let’s get started!

Navigating Toddle web

As you open the Toddle webpage, you will find the option to login as a student. If you are a first-time user, refer to this article to create a new account for yourself.

If your account is already created, click on the ‘Student account’ option as highlighted above. You will be asked to sign in using your student sign-in code, or your registered email id.

Once you have successfully logged in, you will land on the Home page just like the one shown below. Let’s explore it together!

💡The cards you see on your homepage may vary depending on the configurations done by the school admin.

Profile settings

At the top of your homepage, you'll find your name along with a drop-down menu with a range of options. Right next to the notifications icon, you'll find an icon with your initials. Click on your name to see a range of options here. Let’s understand each of them.

The ‘My Profile’ tab is where you will get a detailed view with information about your class, your academic progress, attendance records, etc.

Use the ‘Language’ switcher under your profile to change the platform language. You can choose from one of the six languages supported.

With the ‘Share feedback’ tab, you can share your feedback about any concerns or issues you might be facing while using the Toddle platform.

Accessing notifications

See the bell icon on the top right? Click on it to access your notifications. These will help you keep in touch with your class activities, school events and more!

The gear icon highlighted in the above screen takes you to the ‘Notifications settings page’. Here you can set your notification preferences by selecting where and when you want to be notified. Refer to this article to learn more about managing your notifications.

Dashboard

Now let's explore the main dashboard section filled with helpful cards:

1. Events

This card will give you a quick view of the school-wide events planned for the next seven days by your school admin. You can access the complete calendar by tapping on the ‘View calendar’ option, through the calendar card in your dashboard on the left or using the calendar icon next to your profile name.

2. Assignments and deadlines

This card shows all the assignments you need to work on. Upcoming tasks, past-due items, and assignments without due dates will all be listed here. Tap the ‘View all’ option to get a more detailed view.

3. Announcements

Click on the ‘Announcements’ card to view all the latest news and updates shared by the school about events, holidays, etc.

On the landing page, you will be able to view all the announcements on the left side of your page. Click on any one announcement to get more details on the same. You can also search for specific announcements by using the search bar at the top right. You can also filter announcements by creator, class, publish date, or status using the filter option.

4. Messaging

You can converse with your teachers by clicking on the ‘Messaging’ card on your homepage. You can use this feature to actively participate in conversations initiated by teachers, as well as initiate chats with teachers from your end.

💡You will be able to initiate a conversation with your teacher only if the relevant setting is enabled by your school admin.

On the landing page, find a list of all the teachers you have conversed with earlier. By selecting a teacher, the chat thread will open on the right side, allowing you to access all the messages and attachments exchanged with that particular teacher. Additionally, use the ‘+’ button at the top to initiate a new conversation. You can send text, voice messages, attachments, and more.

5. Calendar

Never miss an event! This card will show the full year's calendar including holidays, parent-teacher conferences and other important school-wide events shared by the school admin. Moreover, you can also view your class tasks, so that you never miss a deadline.

You can navigate between months using the two arrows on top and also switch between a weekly and a monthly view using the icons highlighted below.

6. Progress reports

Access the latest academic reports and evaluations shared by your school here. You can view and download PDF copies.

6. Gradebook

This is where you can get an overview of your academic performance across all grading periods and subjects. You can view assessment-wise scores and also get a glimpse at your performance in the various learning goals assessed by your teacher. Additionally, if you are an MYP student, the ‘Other views’ section allows you to explore additional details, including an overview of your progress reports and progress of service learning outcomes.

7. Timetable

Get the daily class schedule at a glance through this timetable card. You can also download the weekly schedule planned by the school.

Here you can keep track of your overall attendance. You can easily view your previous excusal history from this section too. To learn more about viewing and managing your attendance, refer to this article.

9. My goals

The Goals module empowers you to set personal goals, create intermediate milestones, and track their progress, all within the platform. Your teachers can also monitor these goals, provide feedback, mark them as complete, and even add new goals for you.

You can view ongoing or completed goals, and add new goals by clicking on the ‘Add goal’ button. You can also break down your main goal into a series of milestones and assign target dates for each one of them. To learn more about this, refer to this article.

Classes

Toddle streamlines your learning experience by putting all your class essentials in one place. With the class switcher highlighted below, you can easily navigate between subjects. Each class page offers a stream for announcements, a space for assignments and grades, file storage for class materials, and a digital portfolio to showcase your work. These features are designed to keep you organized, engaged, and on track with your studies. Let’s explore each section to help you make the most of your classes.

Unit planning

The ‘Unit planning’ tab shows the different units your teacher has planned for your class. It's a great way to preview what you'll be learning next. If you're curious about future topics or want to prepare ahead, this is the place to check.

By clicking on any of the units, you can access the details of the unit plan that your teacher has prepared for you.

Assignments

This section has details of the various tasks assigned to you. You can easily navigate between the tasks to be done, scheduled tasks and those that are already completed from the panel on top of the screen. You can also submit your responses and view your teacher’s evaluation here. Refer to these to learn more about submitting assignments for PYP, MYP and DP curriculum.

Class flow

The ‘Class flow’ section is the one-stop where you will find a structured layout of all the tasks, assignments, and learning resources organised by your teacher into relevant folders or even independently. You can chat with your teachers for specific assignments, turn in your work, and even add comments through this section.

Portfolio

The ‘Portfolio’ is where you can document your learning journey, drawing evidence from daily classroom activities throughout the year. The posts you or your teachers create can be easily shared with your peers and family members, enabling seamless collaboration and visibility. To create a new post, simply tap on the ‘Create post’ button on the top right. Learn more about creating posts here. IA/EA

If you're a DP student, you'll have separate tabs for managing the IA and EA components of your subjects. This section is crucial for keeping your IA/EA coursework organized and ensuring that you meet all required milestones and submission deadlines.

Class drive

This tab would contain all the learning resources your educator has shared with you. You can view and download these resources for your reference. You can also search for a particular file or folder using the search bar right at the top.

For MYP Curriculum - Projects

If you are enrolled in the MYP Curriculum, there are some additional cards that will be available for you on the Toddle homepage. Here is a brief introduction to all of these.

Personal project

The Personal Project is a passion project taken up by MYP students - a culminating experience that allows you to showcase what you have learnt throughout your MYP curriculum. As an MYP student, you can effectively manage your MYP personal project on Toddle while following IB guidelines. Toddle allows you to submit your project proposal for review by your supervisor, receive feedback, track submission deadlines, submit your final project report with a plagiarism check, maintain your process journal entries, and more! Community project

The Community project is like a hands-on experience that helps students develop important skills such as research, critical thinking, and project management. It also encourages you to become more aware of your community and your potential to make positive changes. Toddle helps you manage your MYP Community Project (CP) according to IB guidelines. You can submit your CP proposal for review, receive feedback, track deadlines, submit your final presentation with a plagiarism check, maintain your process journal, and more. Service as action

Through Service as Action, students apply their learning to address genuine needs, developing a sense of social responsibility and personal growth. As a student, you can use Toddle to work on and manage your service activities to complete the SAA requirements. You can easily create new service activities, keep track of activity dates, tag learning outcomes to your activity, get your supervisor’s approval and feedback, collect learning evidences, record your reflections and do much more! For DP Curriculum - DP Core

If you are enrolled in the DP Curriculum, there are some additional cards that will be available for you on the Toddle homepage. Let’s explore all of these.

Extended Essay

The Extended Essay is a core part of the IBDP curriculum and offers you the chance to research a topic you're passionate about in one of your subjects. It helps you develop critical thinking, research, and writing skills essential for college and beyond. Toddle makes managing your Extended Essay (EE) easy by letting you share your proposal, record mandatory reflections, submit drafts and final versions, and get feedback from your supervisor—all while meeting IB requirements.

The Extended essay dashboard is where you will see an overview of your EE progress. To reach here, click on ‘Extended Essay’ (under DP Core) on your homepage.

Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)

CAS is a key part of the IBDP, promoting personal growth through creative, active, and service-oriented experiences. Toddle simplifies the management of your CAS program by allowing you to track your activities, reflect on your experiences, and submit evidence of your involvement. You can easily share your CAS plan, record reflections, document activities, and get feedback from your CAS coordinator, all while ensuring that you meet IB requirements. The CAS dashboard provides an overview of your progress, helping you stay on top of your CAS commitments. To access this section, simply click on ‘CAS’ (under DP Core) on your homepage. Theory of Knowledge - Essay

The TOK Essay prompts students to think deeply about how we know things and explore different ways of knowing, like reason and emotion. You can choose from IB-provided topics to explore knowledge questions across subjects like science, history, and the arts. This essay promotes critical thinking and helps you grasp the complexities of knowledge in various contexts. As a DP student, Toddle helps you manage your TOK essay tasks: submit proposals, share drafts and final essays with your TOK supervisor, request reviews, receive feedback, document interactions, and keep track of deadlines easily.

Theory of Knowledge - Exhibition

The TOK Exhibition is a special part of the IBDP curriculum. It challenges students to creatively explore ideas about knowledge through presentations and exhibits. Here, you get to engage with real-world issues and show how knowledge is shaped and understood across different subjects and ways of thinking.

Collaborative sciences project

The Collaborative sciences project in the DP curriculum is an interdisciplinary learning engagement where students from the sciences subject group collaborate on a scientific or technological investigation for a given topic. Toddle has created a seamless experience for you as a student to work on and manage your collaborative sciences project, in alignment with the IB guidelines.

To view your progress in the CSP, click on ‘Collaborative sciences project’ on your Dashboard.
