As a student, you can use Toddle to complete and submit worksheets shared by your teachers. Once submitted, you’ll be able to view your scores and any feedback your teacher has shared with you.
This article will cover:
Submitting responses on a worksheet
Viewing the evaluation for a worksheet
Submitting responses on a worksheet
Accessing the worksheet
via Homepage
On the homepage, you will see the ‘Assignments and deadlines’ widget with a list of assignments you need to work on from all your classes. This list is divided into three tabs - Upcoming tasks, Overdue tasks and the tasks which have no due date.
Clicking on ‘View all’ will take you to a full page view of your pending tasks.
via Notifications
All notifications related to class assignments, including worksheets, are placed under the Assignments tab in the notification panel (click the bell icon). You’ll receive notifications when a worksheet is assigned, graded, or closed for submission. Additionally, a reminder notification will be sent one day before the submission deadline. These notifications let you open the task directly from your homepage with a single click. You will also receive an email notification for assignment-related updates, helping to ensure that all tasks are completed and submitted on time.
via Assignments
From your homepage, click on the class for which you want to view the tasks, including worksheets. Once inside the class, go to the Assignments section from the left menu to see all tasks for that class.
Tasks are organized into two tabs:
To-do: Tasks that are open for submission
Done: Tasks you’ve completed or that are now closed
You can check the submission status for each task. If a task is closed, you won’t be able to submit your work. Additionally, a badge on a task indicates a message or update from your teacher.
Viewing the worksheet instructions
When you open a worksheet, you will see a two-column layout on the landing page. Instructions on the left and Your response section on the right.
The left panel: Instruction panel
The left panel on the worksheet page provides all the essential information in one place. This includes:
Worksheet details such as title, status, due date and time
Instruction content, including descriptions and resources
Assessment tools like scores, comments, rubrics, or checklists (if added)
Learning goals, if your teacher has linked any to the worksheet
💡 If certain assessment tools or learning goals are attached to individual questions, they’ll appear once you start answering the worksheet. Furthermore, If a worksheet is scheduled for a future date, only the left (instruction) panel will be visible until its open date is reached.
The right panel: Your response
The right panel is where you complete all worksheet-related actions. Based on how your teacher has set up the worksheet, you may see the following options here:
Start, resume, or submit the worksheet
Complete self-evaluation (if enabled)
In case of timed worksheets, you'll see the total time allotted and a live countdown timer. These worksheets will automatically submit once time runs out, and the right panel will display important details like remaining time, submission status, and any restriction warnings.
For non-timed worksheets, no timer will be shown. You can start, pause, or resume the worksheet at your own pace before submitting it.
If your teacher has enabled a browser lock, you will see a message in the right panel indicating this. In such cases, the worksheet can only be attempted in the designated browser environment, and normal features like tab-switching, copy/paste, or access to other apps will be restricted.
If your teacher has enabled the Lockdown application for the worksheet, you’ll need to complete it in the Safe Exam Browser (SEB). In such cases, the right panel will show an option to download the SEB.
Starting the worksheet
Click ‘Start Worksheet’ to begin.
To attempt a worksheet in Safe Exam Browser, follow these additional steps:
Click the ‘Download Safe Exam Browser’ button in the right panel.
Follow the steps prompted by the system to install the SEB on your device.
After installation, click ‘Open in Safe Exam Browser’.
This will open a modal and a system dialog. Grant permission and proceed by selecting ‘Open Safe Exam Browser’.
If the dialog doesn’t appear, click ‘Launch SEB’ from the modal to begin. Once you’re inside SEB, you won’t be able to open other applications or switch tabs until you exit.
If the worksheet is timed, the timer will begin immediately. The top bar shows the timer, total marks, and any assessment tools attached. Instructions (if added) are displayed at the top. Questions are listed with their respective maximum marks, and an icon next to a question’s score indicates that an assessment tool is attached.
Depending on the settings enabled by your teacher and the question type, you can respond in various ways. This may include typing your response, uploading supporting files, drawing or editing graphs, or recording audio/video.
As you complete each question, a green tick mark will appear on the right side. You can also keep track of the number of questions you have attempted in the right pane.
Additionally, if the lock screen setting is active, switching tabs will prompt you to explain the reason for doing so, after which you can resume your work.
Furthermore, if your teacher has enabled the on-screen scientific calculator, you can use it for your calculations.
Submitting the worksheet
After completing all questions, you can submit your work by clicking on the ‘Submit’ button. If you wish to take a break or double-check your answers, the ‘Save and exit’ option allows you to save your progress and come back later. This option is also available for timed assignments. However, please note that the timer continues to run even when you are not working on the worksheet, and it will automatically submit once the time is up.
💡Please note that the ‘Save and exit’ option is not available for assignments with a locked screen or those opened in the Safe Exam Browser. It's important to note that once you submit, the submission becomes final and cannot be reversed.
Self-evaluation
If your teacher has enabled self-evaluation for the worksheet, you can complete it using the tools they’ve added, such as a rubric, single-point rubric, or checklist.
On the left panel, these tools will appear in the Assessment tool(s) section.
On the right panel (under Your response), you’ll also see the same tools listed. Click Add next to each tool to complete your evaluation.
💡Self-evaluation is not available for score-based assessments or final remarks/comments, as these can only be added by your teacher.
Viewing the evaluation for a worksheet
After you submit your worksheet, your teacher will get a notification. You'll be notified too when your teacher has finished evaluating your work. Simply click on the notification to access and review your teacher's assessment.
On the landing page, you'll see the total marks you've received and the evaluation of any additional assessment tools used in the worksheet. Click on the ‘Messaging’ tab in the top right corner to view any private messages left by your teacher. If class discussion is enabled for this worksheet, you can view it under the ‘Class discussion’ tab as well.
Click on the ‘View evaluated worksheet’ button to view the teacher’s evaluation for each question.
💡After submission, you’ll be able to view your teacher’s evaluation only if your teacher has chosen to make it visible.
If your teacher has provided correct answers or comments for individual questions, you'll find those as well. And, in the top right corner, you can see your overall score along with the evaluation on other assessment tools used for the worksheet.
In the ‘Evaluation’ section, you can click on the added assessment tool(s) to see both self-evaluation (if completed) and your teacher’s evaluation, within the same view.
If your teacher requests a resubmission, you'll receive a notification under the bell icon. Simply click on the notification to directly access your submission.
You'll also find the teacher's comments or reasons for resubmission in the Messaging window. Click on ‘Resume worksheet’ to edit your answers and resubmit your work.
💡Please note that teachers can only request resubmission on worksheets that are not timed.
