Toddle Community encourages teachers to share units of inquiry and learning experiences as a way to get feedback on their work and inspire others. Contributions also aim to encourage fellow PYP educators to try different approaches to teaching and learning by using communal resources to increase student engagement and advance their own skills, knowledge, and beliefs related to student learning.

You can contribute your unit plans and learning experiences to Toddle Community in four ways-

  1. Contribute a unit from within the Toddle platform

  2. Clicking on the Contribute button at the top menu of Toddle Community

  3. Clicking on the Contribute button in the footer on the Toddle Community homepage

  4. Clicking on your profile in the top menu of Toddle Community and contributing from within your profile

Let us look at each way in detail -

1. Contribute a unit from within the Toddle platform

A. Log into your Toddle account and arrive at the homepage, as seen below. Select your class.

B. Select the unit you want to contribute and click the three dots next to the unit name, as shown in the image. Click on Add to Community.

C. Here, enter the details on your unit such as the unit summary, grade, tags and collaborators. To the right of the window, you can also see sharing guidelines for the unit. Please ensure your unit meets these guidelines. Click ‘Share’ once you have entered all information and read through the guidelines.

D. Your unit has been added to Community and you can see it on your Learning Design Portfolio on Community.

2. Clicking on the Contribute button at the top menu of Toddle Community

A. From the top menu click on the red Contribute button as seen below -

B. You will now see a pop up showing you the steps involved in contributing to Toddle Community

C. Click on ‘Contribute a unit plan’ or ‘Contribute a learning experience’ to contribute unit plans and learning experiences from your Toddle platform.

D. To learn more about the steps in contributing a unit plans and learning experience, follow the steps listed in ‘Steps to contribute a unit’ and ‘Steps to Contribute a learning experience’ at the end of this article.

A. Scroll down to the end of the Toddle Community homepage to see the footer. In the footer, you will find the red ‘Contribute’ button, as seen below -

B. Upon clicking this button, you will again see the pop up showing you the steps involved in contributing to Toddle Community

C. Click on ‘Contribute a unit plan’ or ‘Contribute a learning experience’ to contribute unit plans and learning experiences from your Toddle platform.

4. Clicking on your profile in the top menu of Toddle Community and contributing from within your profile

A. Click on your profile picture in the top menu and click on ‘See your profile’ as shown below -

B. In your Learning Design Portfolio section as shown below, you can see the Contribute a unit and Contribute a learning experience section as shown below.

C. Click on the + sign to begin contributing a unit plan or learning experience.

Steps to contribute a unit

No matter whether you contribute a unit plan from the Contribute button or your Learning Design Portfolio, you will be directed to the following steps to complete making your unit contribution -

Step 1: Click on Contribute a unit through any of the 3 ways listed above.

Step 2: You will see a list of all units you have made on Toddle. Here, select the unit you want to contribute and click on Next.

Step 3: You will be directed to a window asking you for some basic information on your unit plan such as unit summary, grades, tag and collaborators. Please fill the appropriate details.

Step 4: In the same screen, you will also see sharing guidelines such as -

- The unit has a relevant high-quality cover image

- All sections of your unit plan are complete

- Your unit has at least 10 relevant learning experiences

- Each learning experience has a relevant high-quality image

- The content in your unit is original and citations have been given wherever applicable

Please ensure your contribution is following these guidelines and then click on the ‘share’ button.

Steps to contribute a learning experience?

Step 1: Click on Contribute a unit through any of the 3 ways listed above.

Step 2: You will see a list of all units you have made on Toddle. Here, select the unit you want to contribute and click on Next.

Step 3: You will then see a list of all learning experiences in the unit plan. You can now click on the learning experiences from the unit that you want to contribute. Then click ‘Next.’.

Step 4: In the same screen, you will also see sharing guidelines such as -

- Your learning experience has a well-written name that teachers from around the world can understand

- Your learning experience is complete with all necessary resources, links, photos, and downloads

- Your learning experience has clear instructions for the teacher and/or the student to understand and follow.

- Wherever necessary, student templates and audio instructions have been provided
